AI rendering for Revit starts with a choice: generate from a model view through a compatible plugin, or save that view as an image for a separate rendering workflow. For an existing kitchen or interior design, keep the Revit model authoritative and use AI to develop the presentation image. A convincing result still needs a person to approve it.
If you are changing the model throughout the day, start by investigating a Revit plugin that can capture the active view. If someone else prepares the design and your job begins with its JPG or PNG, investigate an image workflow. If the deliverable needs a navigable scene, exact camera paths or controlled model materials, keep a model-based renderer in the process.

Capabilities differ. Chaos documents Veras inside Revit, starting from an active 3D camera view and offering prompts, reference images and local editing controls. Its guide also distinguishes prompt-based geometry control in engine V7 from the slider used by older engines. Follow the documentation for the engine you actually select.
RunDiffusion also documents a dedicated Revit plugin. That gives teams another native-workflow option to investigate. Neither a plugin label nor a vendor's best example establishes how reliably a tool will handle your joinery, glazing or material schedule.
Before installing anything, identify the specific Revit version, supported view types and project-data requirements. Test with an authorised design. Check what happens after you edit the model: can you capture the updated view easily, identify the earlier result and repeat the same brief? Those are useful purchasing questions even when two tools produce similarly attractive first images.
A clear input gives the next stage a better description of your intent. Preparing it also makes comparison easier when the result returns. Keep this preparation in a dedicated presentation view so working drawings remain useful to the rest of the team.
Choose the perspective that answers the client's question. For a kitchen, that might show the island, tall housing and window together. Avoid a dramatic wide view if it obscures the cabinet arrangement you need to discuss. Record the model revision and view name before generating.
Check that required furniture and fittings are visible and current. Make neighbouring finishes distinguishable where possible. A blank white surface does not tell an image tool whether it represents painted joinery, stone, glass or an unfinished placeholder. Add that distinction to the material brief.
Keep dimensions, tags, reference markers and unnecessary overlays out of the image you intend to render. Retain them in the project records. For an interior, inspect the crop for clipped handles, missing ceiling edges or an opening that becomes hard to interpret.
Open the file at its intended viewing size. Check the crop, aspect ratio and small details before using it. Choose a resolution supported by the receiving tool; extra pixels cannot supply a hidden appliance or an unresolved material decision.
In Revit 2026, open File > Export > Images and Animations > Image. Choose the file location and the required range: the current window, its visible portion, or selected views and sheets. Under Image Size, use the pixel-based Fit To option or a Zoom To percentage, then choose the appropriate format. These controls are described in Autodesk's view-to-image instructions.
Pay attention to the range: a current-window image can include content outside the area you expected. Reopen the saved file instead of assuming it matches the on-screen composition. Autodesk separately documents saving a rendered image, including JPG and PNG support. Use the appropriate route for a viewport image or an existing rendered view.
For a team handoff, use a meaningful name such as Project-Kitchen-View01-RevisionC.png. Keep the untouched original alongside the presentation result. When the design changes, create a new image from the new revision; do not let an attractive earlier result become the starting point for a different specification.
Suppose an interior designer has resolved an open-plan kitchen in Revit. The task is to make the daylight and surface finishes easier for the client to understand, while retaining the island, appliance positions and joinery. Begin with the saved perspective and a short instruction that separates fixed decisions from presentation changes.
This is an example instruction, not a guarantee or a tested result. After generation, compare the same areas side by side: island ends, cabinet divisions, oven stack, sink, window and material boundaries. A new decorative panel or missing handle matters even if the lighting has improved.

Prepare each camera in Revit using the same design revision. Carry the same material descriptions and reference images into each rendering request. Keep a small record of the view, revision, brief and result so another person can tell which design the image represents.
Inspect each image individually, then compare the set. A worktop can look plausible in both images while its pattern scale or edge treatment changes between them. A single image does not establish what the room looks like from an unseen angle. For that angle, return to the model and prepare its actual view.
Use the camera-angle guide when framing the set. Use a maintained 3D scene when the deliverable requires continuous camera movement through verified geometry.
