Lighting can make fitted joinery easier to read and a bedroom easier to imagine. It can also change the apparent finish, hide shadowed details, or introduce fittings that look included when they are only presentation styling. A useful render needs atmosphere and a clear boundary around what the project actually specifies.
Before enhancing a fitted-bedroom export, classify each light source as project-backed, existing-room context, or presentation-only. Then review whether the final image keeps that status legible. A beautiful glow is not harmless if the client can reasonably read it as a quoted wardrobe feature.

Mark every apparent source of light: windows, doors, rooflights, ceiling fittings, wall lights, wardrobe LEDs, dressing-table lights, and any unexplained ambient glow. Compare their location with the source view and project record. If an effect has no source, decide whether to remove it or label it as illustrative.
Check which way shadows fall and whether adjacent objects agree. Pay attention beneath shelves, beside tall wardrobe ends, around cornice or scribe details, and inside open internals. A bright room with contradictory shadows may feel polished while making the joinery difficult to trust.
Compare light and dark finishes, woodgrain, mirrors, metals, handles, and fabrics against the source image and any current physical samples. Ask whether lighting has merely changed the mood or has made one finish appear like a different product. Do not approve a finish from a screen image alone.
Put the establishing view, storage view, and detail views side by side. Window direction, fitting state, colour character, and shadow depth should describe one room at one understandable moment. If the set mixes daylight states deliberately, label the comparison rather than letting it look accidental.
Lighting QA often concentrates on blown highlights and colour cast. In fitted bedrooms, the commercial risk is frequently in the dark areas: a shadow can conceal a door split, compress a handle detail, merge an end panel into the wall, or make an open wardrobe internal appear deeper than the quoted arrangement.
Temporarily compare the render at a smaller size and at normal presentation brightness. If important divisions disappear, do not simply lift every shadow until the image looks flat. Adjust the presentation, add a supporting view, or return to the source image so the client can understand the design without a misleading lighting effect.

Wardrobe lighting is especially easy to overstate. A continuous illuminated rail, glowing shelf edge, lit plinth, or perfectly even internal wash can look like a supplied feature. If it is included, review it against the current design and specification. If it is not, remove it or make its illustrative status explicit in the presentation.
Check that pendants, downlights, wall lights, and wardrobe fittings have not multiplied, moved, or changed type between the source view and the enhanced image.
A render does not prove illuminance, colour fidelity, glare control, energy use, dimming behaviour, electrical suitability, or compliance. Those require product data, calculations, and appropriate professional review.
A short note such as "lighting shown for presentation; final fittings and output subject to project specification" is more useful than expecting the client to infer which effects are illustrative.
Warm, neutral, and cool-looking illumination can alter how the same wardrobe finish is perceived. NIST describes colour rendering as the way object colours appear under a particular light and also notes that preference is not the same as fidelity. That distinction matters in presentations: a client may prefer a warmer scene, but preference does not prove that the visual reproduces the finish accurately.
Use a consistent lighting state to compare render attempts, and record intentional changes. For final material selection, return to current physical samples and the supplier's project information under suitable viewing conditions. EGGER's own digital visualisation guidance states that colour-matching decor selection is only possible with the original sample. The safe principle applies beyond one manufacturer: a screen visual supports discussion; it is not the material approval record.

Stop release when the render adds an apparent quoted fitting, removes a specified one, changes a room opening, hides an important joinery fact, or makes the presentation set materially contradictory.
